Of all the different styles of shoes out there, sneakers, boots, platforms, sandals and more, loafers and Bostonians are probably the ones we confuse most often. Despite their similarities , both styles have earned pride of place as staple designs that can be worn anywhere.

This common mistake may be due to factors such as their origins, for whom they were designed -men in general- or who are the main users. If you want to know more about the history of these styles, we invite you to read our article “Brief History of Footwear.”
SEE TONY MODELIn this blog we tell you about the differences , both aesthetic and social , between loafers and Boston loafers , as well as the most outstanding characteristics of both designs.
loafers
The moccasins are flat models, with a low instep and no laces . Many of these designs feature embellishments on the instep, such as tassels or hardware. They are characterized by having a simple silhouette with few pieces and clean cuts. They are generally square or slightly rounded.
These types of shoes were designed for meetings or more casual occasions. It is very common to see them in business casual looks or simply if you want to be at home without losing style.
Bostonians
Like moccasins, Boston shoes are floor models, however, this style is characterized by having a higher instep , with flaps -sometimes it is only one, as in monkstraps or two- and with laces or buckles . Its silhouette has a very characteristic pattern of individual pieces that sometimes needs more than 20 parts.
SEE EMMA MODEL
Many times, the silhouette of these models is accompanied by perforations or brogues . The toe of these models is also usually square , but unlike moccasins, it is almost always sharper and not as rounded.

Initially these models were conceived for more formal events. They are elegant shoes with a distinguished silhouette that makes them ideal to accompany any outfit in meetings with a higher protocol.

Although these shoes were designed for specific social situations , today many issues of such strict etiquette have lost relevance. You can use them as you want and when you feel more comfortable , remember that there are no rules in fashion! At Regina Romero we create designs that accompany your journey and not limit your style.

Mis pies son muy anchos y el izquierdo tiene juanete y tiende a hincharse bastante todos los días. ¿ De qué manera se podría solicitar que me realicen un par de zapatos a la medida?
