For
many years we have associated the color pink exclusively with women , creating controversies and gender biases . However, this is a color that has had multiple interpretations throughout history .

This is a color that has been described in literature since ancient times . From Homer's Odyssey to Roman poets it has been mentioned in their texts, generally associating it with dawn .

In the Middle Ages, it was not a primary color for clothing. It was not until the French Rococo , in the 17th century , when it enjoyed great splendor . In the dresses of the ladies, their fans and also in the attire of the gentlemen , it was a frequent color , like the entire range of pastel colors that soon flooded the wardrobes of the nobility and bourgeoisie throughout Europe.

This color is associated with charm , refinement , sensitivity , sweetness , femininity and romanticism . That is why it is often called a color for women ; But, long before our time and, above all, before the Victorian era , it was more associated with men , as it was a kind of “diluted red” , which was associated with blood. Later, pink was gradually abandoned by men who worked in factories during the Industrial Revolution .

However, it was not until the 1940s
that market segmentations turned it into a color associated with the female sex , but giving it a pejorative meaning , which not only associated this color with the feminine, but also with weakness , playfulness and submission .

In recent years , the color pink has become a symbol of the defense of homosexual rights , as a fight against the memory of Nazi Germany , where it was used as a stigma to place them in concentration camps. Pink evolves and little by little stops being a solely feminine tone. Every time we can see more openness to reconnect with the male gender .

This is a color that will never cease to be controversial . Little by little it is freed from stereotypes and is associated with activism and the millennial generation , which was assigned a specific tone that many fashion and lifestyle brands quickly absorbed. Pink , at this time, is a symbol of liberation and openness , so it is no coincidence that it is present in many haute couture collections this season.

We are talking about a
color that will continue to transform and that, without a doubt, is already a fundamental piece in the wardrobes of men and women . We are proud that it represents us , as a feminine color , but loaded with strength, elegance and transformation .
