Nowadays, a good pair of loafers are basic in any wardrobe since their versatility allows you to wear them at a casual meal, at the office or at a more formal meeting. At Regina Romero we know the importance of these shoes in your wardrobe, that's why we create them in varied styles and for all tastes; with the quality you already know and love so much. Today I want to tell you how to make a good pair of moccasins.
As you already know, creating a good pair of shoes, in general, is a long process that requires a lot of care. Loafers are no exception. To achieve an excellent pair of loafers, we must first: “cure the last”, then the external and internal materials are selected and finally they are embellished to give it a unique touch.

You should always ensure that the dimensions of the last are balanced, to give you the greatest possible comfort and that you can walk for hours. Take care that the heel, although it is a very small heel of 2cm, and the tip have maximum functionality to prevent you from going forward or backward when you are standing. Alejandra, our industrial designer specializing in footwear, always says that "the most important thing is to take care of the width of the last, because moccasins require a wider last to provide greater comfort when walking" that is why sometimes I recommend that you buy ½ a size less .

Once we have the perfect last, we must choose the materials that are going to be part of our loafers. First we choose the ones that go inside
  • The plant: on the outside it is made of a very special cotton fiber that does not bend when walking, this reduces the "burns" or friction that become annoying and are common in synthetic footwear. One of Alejandra's new ideas was to add a base to the sole made of foam rubber with memory foam technology to prevent it from "flattening" and losing comfort.
  • The sole: our soles are tanned leather, this makes it a highly resistant material that prevents external elements such as water from reaching your foot, but at the same time, as it is a natural product, it is very flexible for walking and does not hurt you
  • The leather of the lining: all our materials are antiseptic and treated with aniline, this allows the leather to breathe naturally, in this way your foot stays at a suitable temperature, sweats little and also avoids bad odours.

Always with comfort in mind so that when you put on your shoes they are like a glove.

EXTERNAL

Later we choose the material that is going to star in your Regina Romero cut . This must be a soft layer and, at the same time, resistant. Also, we tan them in aniline and we always have them available in basic colors (black, blue, red, beige) this allows us to have basic models, which are part of the Regina Collection that also have limited editions for the season. It is very important that the leather is cut in one piece, this gives your moccasins more elegance, exclusivity, distinction and quality . Special creams are also applied to the leather that give it a natural appearance so that you have shoes that always remain shiny and like new.

Decorated

Finally, the moccasin is finished by adding a hardware, some mask or tassel, to achieve a classic moccasin with a youthful appearance. All this gives a plus in the design of your moccasin and makes it unique.
