A survey carried out by the British newspaper Independent indicates that blue is the favorite color of most people. Eva Heller, an expert in color psychology , points out that blue is the color of all good qualities and all good feelings that are not dominated by passion, but are based on mutual understanding .

Furthermore, this shade is also associated with fluidity and freedom . Aristotle , one of the first students of the properties of color, related blue to wind and water , the most agile elements . Ironically, the word “blue” is the last of the primary colors to appear in language , since it is the one found in the smallest quantity in nature.

But why do we like it so much? We could say that it is because of its link with balance , tranquility and control . There are very few people who don't like this pigment. However, it is well known that, in excess , blue produces melancholy and nostalgia . The reality is a little more complicated.

Like Aristotle, we relate blue to water, especially the oceans. But, like the sea, the blue hues change their meaning depending on the depth .

For example, light blue has an innocent and pure symbology . Commercially it is used in relation to health, softness and tranquility. It is a candid tone . On the other hand, dark blue is maturity , knowledge and toughness .

Aesthetically , blue ones look good for any occasion . Its use is appropriate in all seasons of the year . When combined with warm hues , such as yellows and oranges, it creates one of the most interesting juxtapositions on the color wheel . That is why this color cannot be missing in any season , as it provides the perfect counterbalance to more striking shades.

And what does it mean to dress it? Wearing blue on our feet or on our clothes conveys security and confidence . It represents authority , structure , communication and loyalty . After black, navy or dark blue is the favorite color of world leaders (presidents, ministers, businessmen, etc.) to use in their suits. A basic color to emanate intelligence , respect and, above all, power .

Dressing it in its lighter tones , on the other hand, gives an air of purity and freshness , since we relate it to rest, harmony and calm . The serenity that these tones awaken relaxes and refreshes at all times because, even if you choose a formal outfit, it will always give an air of modernity .

It is fortunate that the fashion trends for the spring-summer 2021 season have presented many outfits in various shades of this color .
