On many occasions we have told you about the danger that fast fashion represents for fashion and the environment . And since this global problem , many brands have presented themselves as sustainable ; However, at the moment we find ourselves, that is no longer enough.
And then what's next? What could go beyond sustainability? The answer is a simple word that entails very complex actions and rules. Fashion , now, must be sustainable .
True sustainable fashion must be self-sufficient . As a result of the serious danger that ecosystems are in and the textile and fashion industry being the second most polluting on the planet, the UN has proposed 17 objectives for sustainable development to which fashion can - and should - contribute.
These objectives cover the care of the environment through various areas: clean water and energy, sustainable communities, responsible production and consumption, climate action, underwater life and life in terrestrial ecosystems .
As if that were not enough, the objectives also focus on economic growth and social inclusion ; such as: the end of poverty, health and well-being, gender equality, optimal work conditions and economic development, innovation and infrastructure, reducing inequalities, peace and justice.
We are a few years away. 2030 is the goal . And at Regina Romero , we know we are sustainable and we are walking little by little, but firmly, towards sustainability .
